The Pradeilles lake: a corner of paradise

The Pradeilles lake, or "Estany de la Pradella" in Catalan, is a must for a family day out. Surrounded by pines and broom, this natural gem offers an explosion of colour and breathtaking views of the Perics peaks. Ideal for a picnic, the lake is just a few minutes' walk from the Roc del Calm chairlift at an altitude of 1991 m.

Lac des Bouillouses: a European giant

With a surface area of 149 hectares, the Lac des Bouillouses is one of the highest in Europe. Listed as a nature reserve since 1976, this lake is perfect for family walks.

Enjoy a meal at the Restaurant des Bones Hores or the Auberge du Carlit. Booking essential on 04 68 04 24 22 or 04 68 04 22 23.
The courses

To get to the Pradeilles lake:
  • From the La Calme car park, take the Roc de la Calme chairlift = Formula 1 return lift.
  • From Font-Romeu town centre, take the Airelles Express gondola, the free shuttle bus to the Airelles car park, then the Roc de la Calme chairlift = 2 lifts return.
  • From Pyrénées 2000, take the Belvédère chairlift, then follow the signposted hiking trail (PR and GR10) to the lakes = 1 lift return ticket.

To get to Lac des Bouillouses :
This summer, the Calme Nord chairlift, which used to provide chairlift access to the Lac des Bouillouses, will be dismantled to make way for a new 6-seater detachable chairlift, much faster and more comfortable, which will be operational by summer 2027.
Despite the works, access to Les Bouillouses will be maintained. You can get there by taking one of the routes suggested above for access to the Etang des Pradeilles and then a special signposted path leading to the Lac des Bouillouses nature reserve. A gentle alternative that invites you to gradually immerse yourself in the high altitude landscapes.
PLEASE NOTE: allow around 15 minutes more for the descent and a further 35-40 minutes for the ascent.

  • Dogs are allowed on the cable cars with transport cages on the chairlifts (€2 supplement). Dogs must be kept on a lead during the hike.
