In summer, enjoy a unique culinary experience at the high-altitude restaurant La Gallina, perched at over 2000 metres on the Gallinera plateau. Accessible to all, this getaway offers a tasty break in the heart of the Catalan mountains. On the menu: Catalan grills, mixed salads, traditional dishes and delicious pies, perfect for satisfying appetites after a refreshing hike.

How to get to La Gallina mountain restaurant

For gourmets :
  • From the Airelles car park, take the 6-seater chairlift directly to the restaurant = Formula 1 return lift.
  • From Font-Romeu town centre, take the Airelles Express gondola to Les Airelles and take the 6-seater chairlift directly to the restaurant = 2 return lifts.

For the Contemplative :
  • Take the Roc de la Calme chairlift to the highest point in the resort at over 2,200 metres. You can then reach the restaurant after a 20-minute walk = Formula 1 single lift.

  • From Pyrénées 2000, take the Le Belvédère chairlift to the restaurant, then go down the signposted frosted path no. 1 and take the Les Airelles chairlift to the high-altitude restaurant La Gallina. For the return journey, from the restaurant, take the signposted icy trail no. 1 down to Col del Pam and then the Le Belvédère chairlift to Pyrénées 2000.
    = Formula 2 return lifts.

For sports enthusiasts :
  • In hiking boots or on a bike, start your journey from the Col del Pam, Les Airelles or La Calme car parks, and follow the ski area slopes to Gallinera.
Dogs allowed: Cages available on chairlifts (€2 supplement). Dogs must be kept on a lead during the hike.

Opening times:
  • Open from Saturday 5 July to Sunday 31 August 2025
Lift times :
Airelles Express 9.00 am - 6.00 pm
Airelles chairlift 9.15am - 4pm
Roc de la Calme chairlift 9am - 5.30pm
Belvédère chairlift 10.00am - 5.00pm

All services close from 13:15 to 13:45, except for the Airelles chairlift which closes from 11:15 to 11:45. For your safety, in the event of bad weather, closing times may be brought forward.
Our local staff will inform you of the time of the last return of the lifts.

Children's safety on the lifts
Children under 1: Not accepted on the lifts for safety reasons.
Children aged between 1 and 3: Must be carried in a "baby carrier" rucksack. Proof of age may be requested.
Baby carrier backpacks for hire: Available from destination partners or on loan from the La Calme ticket office (limited quantities). Please note that baby slings are not accepted.

Advice before you leave
  • Check the weather: Check the conditions and bring warm, waterproof clothing in case of unexpected bad weather.
  • Wear appropriate footwear for comfort and safety.
  • Protect yourself from the sun: Take sunglasses, sun cream and a cap with you.
  • Stay informed: Follow the latest information and safety instructions for a successful day in the mountains.
